It was bound to happen, Hannity is starting to lose his mind like Rush did.
Fox News and radio host Sean Hannity is pledging to leave the “socialist state of New York,” after a remark by Gov. Andrew Cuomo that “right to life, pro-assault weapons, anti-gay” politicians aren’t welcome in the Empire State.
Hannity is not putting a precise timetable on his departure, and on Monday disclaimed interest in running for an open U.S. House seat in Florida.
But the ultraconservative, Obama bashing pundit is feeling unwelcome in a state where Democrats hold the governorship, both U.S. Senate seats, 22 of 27 House seats and where very liberal New York Mayor Bill De Blasio is promising to tax the ultra rich.
“Gov. Cuomo, I’m going to leave and I’m taking all of my money with me, every single solitary penny,” Hannity told his radio audience late last week.
On Fox News, he elaborated about the tax travails of a multi-million-dollar media personality: Hannity pays “40 percent taxes, the highest federal level,” a state income tax, and the “second highest property tax level in the nation” as a resident of New York’s Nassau County.
“It’s almost like I’m facilitating the robbery of the hard-earned money that I’m making,” he said. “I’m not going to do it anymore. As soon as I am able, probably when my son graduates from high school, I’m getting out of here as quick as I can.”
Hannity wasn’t finished. He said the Empire State has become “the unified socialist state of New York.”
He decried “the nanny state of New York and New York City” in which he can’t buy a super-sized Coke and must ask for a salt shaker in restaurants.
