"That was a great baseball game tonight," said Goldeyes manager Rick Forney. "We got good pitching today. The Goldeyes opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the first as Price Kendall worked a leadoff walk, then Weber walked and Yurendell de Caster drove in Kendall with a double. Luis Alen drove home Weber on a ground out and the Goldeyes quickly gave Privett a 2-0 lead. In the second, after a Josh Mazzola single to lead off, Ridge Carpenter was safe on a fielders choice and newcomer Jose Duran walked. The Saints scored a run in the fifth off Privett but that was the only blemish on the Goldeyes pitching staff.
